Internet Explorer 6 Issues

Some users have been reporting problems when trying to access stories on the site using Internet Explorer 6.  Please know that we are working on the problem and are doing our best to track down the cause.  In this article, we offer two work-arounds while we are fixing the problem.

New and Improved Menu Structure

Based on a lot of user feedback (thank you, and keep it coming!), we have changed the Main Menu around quite a bit.  The new menu structure hopes to accomplish these goals.

For you Mac users, you can now get our headlines right on your Dashboard with our Dashboard Widget.

Updated features:

  • Wider format to make room for headlines
  • "Check for Updates" button on the back of the widget
  • Support for our new Feedburner feeds

Some of you may have noticed the gradual shift over the past few months where we’ve been emphasizing McKinneyNews.net more and more.  Today, that transition is complete and Sports.net no longer exists as an active site.  Not to worry, however.  Just as always, all of Sports.net’s content can be found in the sports section of News.net.

Photo Page Improvements

Based on feedback from our users, we have simplified photo searches.  While no photo is ever deleted from our system, some users were having trouble finding older photos.  We have now made the search much more Google-like where you enter just a simple search term.  Give it a try today!
