McKinney Kiwanis Presents The Children And Community Health Clinic With Donation
On Thursday June 18, 2009 the McKinney Kiwanis Club presented the Children and Community Health Center of McKinney with a donation of $5,000. Receiving the funds for the Center was Molly McCune, Director and Sandy Dickey. The funds were raised from the club's Triathlon events held in May. All funds from the events are distributed to local charities.
Children & Community Health Center is a community-based effort to deliver basic healthcare to the underserved residents of McKinney and the surrounding areas. These services are provided through a free clinic staffed by volunteer healthcare professionals supported by community volunteers. The clinic provides healthcare for children and adults at no charge. The only requirement is that the patient must be unable to access healthcare services through the traditional fee-for-service delivery system
The Historic McKinney Kiwanis Triathlon is held the first weekend in May and is scheduled for May 1st & 2nd, 2010.
