Fall Signing Period Begins

Note: The following signings have been submitted to McKinneyNews.net by coaches and parents. If your athlete is signing day, too, please send it to us and we'll include it.

The fall signing period began Wednesday with several local athletes expected to pledge their services to universities across the United States.

Volleyball

McKinney Boyd's Cara Howley has accepted a volleyball athletic scholarship to attend the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.  Cara’s signing at South Carolina signifies the first Division I volleyball signee from McKinney Boyd High School. South Carolina competes in the Southeastern Conference.

Baseball

McKinney North pitcher Kindle Ladd signed to play baseball at Oklahoma University. The Sooners, a Division I school, compete in the Big 12 Conference.

Girls Basketball

McKinney North's Amanda Mason is signing her letter of intent to play for Tulsa University. The Golden Hurricane, a Division I school, compete in Conference USA.

Softball

McKinney High had three signees Wednesday: Chelsey Rephan signed to play for Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark. The Diamond Reddies play in the Division II Gulf South Conference (GSC). .

Ashley Thomas signed to play for Georgia Tech in Atlanta. The Yellowjackets play in the Division I Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Jennifer Gilbert signed to play for Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. The Cardinals play in the Division I Mid-American Conference (MAC).
