Woods Scores Again; Bado Catches Game-Winner

Texas Tech’s Shannon Woods (McKinney North) continues to make a living out of getting into the end zone. Woods scored for the sixth consecutive week, dating to last season, in the Red Raiders’ 49-45 loss to Oklahoma State. Woods, who ran for 60 yards and had 32 receiving yards, has six touchdowns on the season for Tech (3-1).

Justin Foyt (McKinney) had a career day in No. 14 Midwestern State’s 49-14 win, registering 3.5 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks for minus-19 yards. Foyt and the Mustangs improved to 4-0, a perfect season that has seen Midwestern State yet to surrender more than 15 points in a game.

Colin Bado (North) scored the game-winner in Missouri Southern’s 17-16 win over Southwest Baptist. Bado caught six passes for 100 yards, including a 12-yard scoring strike with 12:24 left in the fourth quarter to send the Lions to victory.

Duke’s Eddie Morgan (McKinney) tallied a career-high three tackles in the Blue Devils’ loss to Navy.

Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Mark Balderas registered a season-high four tackles in a 48-0 win over Texas Lutheran, while Missouri-Rolla’s Justin Philpy (McKinney) had two tackles and one forced fumble, and Richmond’s Casey Cooley had one tackle.

James Arnold (McKinney) started on the Hardin-Simmons offensive line, a unit which helped the Cowboys rack up 448 yards in a 41-34 win against Louisiana College.

Austin College’s Brett Anderson (McKinney) rushed for 27 yards, including a nine-yard scamper, on seven carries in a 21-14 loss to Centre College.

Colby Bryant (North) started at tight end for Northeastern State but didn’t record any receptions.

Oklahoma State’s Kenny Alexander (North), Tulsa’s Rashad Robinson (North), TCU’s Jeff Olson (North) Hardin-Simmons’ Kurston Williams (North) and Missouri-Rolla’s Collin Bahr (McKinney) did not play.
