Editor’s Note:
Every week McKinneyNews.net will recap the performances of former MISD football players at the collegiate level. This edition is for games played on Sept. 29.

Already with six touchdowns on the young season, Texas Tech’s Shannon Woods (McKinney North) scored three first-half TDs in the Red Raiders’ 75-7 win over Northwestern State. Woods, who had 47 total yards and didn’t play in the second half, has now scored in seven consecutive games, dating to last season.

Colin Bado (North) had 87 receiving yards and one touchdown in Missouri Southern’s 42-19 win over Emporia State. Bado, the program’s all-time leading receiver, hauled in a season-high nine passes.

Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Mark Balderas (North) turned in the best performance of his career, tallying six tackles, two tackles for a loss and one-half sack, in a 61-19 win over McMurry University. Balderas also added one forced fumble and a pass breakup.

Tulsa’s Rashad Robinson (North) registered the first tackle of his career in a 38-30 win over UAB.

Justin Foyt (McKinney) had one tackle and one quarterback hurry in Midwestern State’s 44-16 win over Angelo State. The 16 points were the most scored against Foyt and Midwestern State, which has limited opponents to just 12.4 points per game.

Missouri-Rolla’s Justin Philpy notched four tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss in a 45-28 loss to Arkansas-Monticello.

James Arnold (McKinney) started on the Hardin-Simmons offensive line, which paved the way for 563 total yards, including 495 through the air, in a 45-42 win over Mississippi College.

Austin College’s Brett Anderson (McKinney) carried the ball six times for 41 yards in a 35-30 victory against Colorado College.

Eddie Morgan (McKinney) participated in Duke’s loss at Miami but did not record any stats.

Richmond’s Casey Cooley (McKinney), Hardin-Simmons’ Kurston Williams and Missouri-Rolla’s Collin Bahr did not play in his team’s respective game.

Stats were not available for Northeastern State’s Colby Bryant (North).

I’m redshirting as well, so it just doesn’t seem fair!

I’m confused. if an athlete is being red-shirted. What is there to say about them?

What is not fair?

The fact that there is no coverage?

or

The fact that they are being red-shirted?

If some one is being red-shirted, there will be plenty of time to feature their accomplishments next year and beyond.

It’s not fair that other players who are putting time into their respective teams don’t get recognition. I was going to ask to be removed from it since there’s nothing to be said, but it’s already been done.
