North Softball Stays Alive

Lady Bulldogs Top Mesquite Poteet 4-3, Even Series

The McKinney North softball team found itself one game away from elimination Friday, then did what it had to do.

North vs. Mesquite Poteet

Region II-4A Quarterfinal
Game 1: Mesquite Poteet 2, North 1
Game 2: North 4, Mesquite Poteet 3 (Series even 1-1)
Game 3: Saturday, 10 a.m. at Plano Senior High School

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Mesquite Poteet 4-3 at Wylie High School to even their Region II quarterfinal playoff series at a game apiece.

A deciding third game will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Plano Senior High School.

North improved to 25-7-2 while snapping Poteet’s 14-game win streak.

Mesquite Poteet fell to 34-5.

Kathy Shelton tripled for McKinney North and also drove in a run by walking with the bases loaded.

Hailey Wagner stole home plate in the sventh inning.

Sarah Becker’s single drove in the winning run.

Ashliegh McLean was the winning pitcher, while Bradie Baker took the loss.

Jordan Hartsell added a double for Poteet.
